Shoals Youth Bassmasters Take On Wilson Lake

The Shoals Youth Bassmasters fished tourney number three of their six-tournament 2025 season. Forty-one youth anglers took on Wilson Lake on June 21 out of the Lock-Six ramp.

The total weight brought in by the age division trophy winners was 75.04 lbs.
 
The weather report from club director Richard Laxson was, “A very pleasant morning giving way to heat and humidity around 9 AM and remained through the 11 AM weigh-in.”
 
Jeb Staggs won first place in the 10 and Under Age Division, bringing in 10.61 lbs. Jeb also took the big fish award with a 4.76 lb. largemouth. In the 11 to 15 Age Division, Kirk Geovanni weighed in at 8.35 lbs, which was good enough for the first-place trophy. Two anglers fished the 16 to 18 Age Division, with Cam Andrews landing in first place for 7.89 lbs.

The total weight brought in by all the youth anglers topped a hundred pounds.

The next Shoals Youth Bassmasters tournament on their trail is July 12 on Pickwick from the McFarland Park ramp.

Anglers in each division must have a responsible adult advisor in the boat. Tournaments begin at 7:00 a.m., and weigh-in is at 11:00 a.m.
 
The three divisions are:
1. 10 and Under
2. 11 through. 15
3. 16 through. 18  
 
The year-end picnic and awards will be held after the last tournament. The 2025 picnic will be at Joe Wheeler in the day use area. You must be a member before the last tournament.
