From Division 117 on February 19th, 2012, Darrell Miller from Tuscumbia, AL is one step closer to the ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win and $281.00 in the American Fishing Tour bass tournament held on Wilson Lake.
Miller`s 5 bass limit weighed in at 23.43 lbs. Second place went to Tyler Weeks with a weight of 19.74 lbs.; third place was Chris Hunt with a weight of 17.40 lbs. Big bass was awarded was to Tyler Weeks for catching a 6.54 pound largemouth.
These anglers are acquiring valuable points to insure their birth in the division’s two-day championship and the American Fishing Tour National Championship that will be held this fall. Their points are also being used to determine the divisional Angler of the Year. The top angler, by points earned in this division, will represent the division in the Angler of the Year final round.

1. Darrell Miller- 23.43
2. Tyler Weeks – 19.74
3. Chris Hunt – 17.40
4. Jeremy Starks – 14.58
Conditions: Cold, windy and pouring rain at safe daylight, and winds blowing from the west straight up the river made fishing early tough for the ones that traveled up-river. Later in the afternoon sky’s cleared and turned into a good day for the ones that did hang in there with it.
Winning Strategy: From everyone that caught fish it was the Alabama Rig that worked in a variety of different ways. The ones that caught the bigger stringers kept throwing and it paid off. Darrell Miller says he culled 16 three pounders throughout the day. Good electronics, “finding the schools of fish deep” and fishing points.
Next Divisional Tournament: This division’s next tournament will be March 18th on Pickwick Lake at McFarland Park.
