Casey Ashley won the 2015 Bassmaster Classic with a homemade “Road Runner” his dad made for him.
“I thanked him thinking to myself, I won’t throw these” Ashley revealed. But he did throw the homemade lure winning the Classic and now he has a Road Runner of his own – Casey’s Classic Runner. Ashley was convinced when he found some bass in waters over 40-feet deep. The slow retrieve of his dad’s jig is what won the $300,000 tournament. His Casey’s Classic Runner comes in eight colors.
Bassmaster Classic winner Randy Howell, working with TTI-Blakemore, has designed the Randy’s Swim’n Runner. “Howell’s rigged version was a success for anglers this year. Our vendor was building
nearly 6000 a day, ” noted TJ Stallings, Public Relations, Road Runner Lures. “I did not realize how successful this lure would be. I only had a handful to fish this year’s classic with myself,” Randy Howell admitted. The Swim’n Runner heads are available in five colors.
The lures feature the same 3-D eyes, holographic paint, premium hook, and a willow blade on a ball bearing swivel. Both Road Runners are available in both 1/4 and 3/8 ounce sizes.
The lures come in Twin Packs.
