“FLW” TELEVISION SHOW JOINS PURSUIT CHANNEL FOR 2015

GLENWOOD, Ala. (Jan. 16, 2015) – Already the world’s largest tournament-fishing organization, FLW’s high-stakes bass fishing television show is now set to become a programming centerpiece for America’s most widely distributed hunt, fish and shoot network, announced Rusty Faulk, Founder and CEO of the Pursuit Channel.

Beginning in January 2015, the Emmy-nominated “FLW” will be seen in hour-long increments starting at 7 p.m. (EST) Tuesdays and 7 a.m. Saturdays on Pursuit.

“FLW and the Pursuit Channel is a very powerful alignment that will be most appreciated by the tens of millions of fishing enthusiasts reached by the Pursuit Channel,” said Faulk.  “FLW is a true outdoor catalyst – there is not an outdoor television series in the world with higher production values, greater real-time tempo or more on-camera fishing drama.”

FLW_LogoIn 1996, Minneapolis businessman Irwin L. Jacobs purchased a Kentucky-based bass tournament organization, re-named it FLW in honor of Forrest L. Wood, legendary founder of the sport’s precedent-setting Ranger Boats, and set out to successfully convince America’s largest corporations of bass fishing’s tremendous grass-roots appeal.  Today, the FLW tournament portfolio includes: the Forrest Wood Cup, the Walmart FLW Tour, the Rayovac FLW Series, the Walmart Bass Fishing League, FLW College Fishing and the FLW/TBF High School Fishing circuit. Additionally, FLW Fantasy Fishing, with players from around the world, has paid out in millions in cash and prizes since its launch in 2008.

“FLW and the Pursuit Channel will both benefit greatly from this new partnership,” said Kathy Fennel, FLW President of Operations. “FLW provides educational and inspirational family-oriented programming for fishing enthusiasts. We strive to promote sportsmanship and conservation at all levels, which makes FLW a natural fit for the Pursuit Channel.”

The “FLW” television show is broadcast to households worldwide on NBC Sports Network, the World Fishing Network and the Pursuit Channel, making it the most widely distributed weekly outdoors-sports television show in the world.

The 2015 FLW Tour Roster is headlined by Andy Morgan of Dayton, Tennessee, winner of the last two consecutive FLW Tour Angler of the Year (AOY) titles. Also competing will be the 2014 Forrest Wood Cup Champion Anthony Gagliardi, along with nine former Forrest Wood Cup Champions including David Fritts, Darrel Robertson, Dion Hibdon, David Dudley, Luke Clausen, Scott Suggs, Scott Martin and Jacob Wheeler.

In FLW Tour competition anglers are vying for valuable points in hopes of qualifying for the 2015 Forrest Wood Cup, the world championship of bass fishing. The 2015 Forrest Wood Cup will be in Hot Springs, Arkansas, Aug. 20-23 on Lake Ouachita. Anglers could win as much as $500,000 – professional bass-fishing’s richest prize.
