Guntown, MS – Hammer Fishing Rods has announced the company will award a $1,000 scholarship to a Mississippi high school graduating angler pursuing full-time enrollment in a two-year or four-year college with plans to continue competing at the collegiate level.
“Being a former Mississippi high school angler myself, I’m extremely excited to give back to the sport that gave so much to me.” Hammer Fishing Rods co-owner Ty Cox said. “As a company, we realize that today’s youth is the future of our sport and we are committed to helping ensure a continued
education to those wishing to compete at the next level. The award is based on academic achievement, volunteer commitment and a personal statement explaining how fishing has impacted your life. Scholarship award will be made payable to recipient’s select
college and must be applied to tuition, fees and/or books.

Championship pre-tournament meeting to be held on April 19, 2018.
Successful recipient will be required to provide:
a) Verification of acceptance/enrollment into two-year or four-year college with an active fishing club in place.
