Logan Martin Fishing Report

Went Fishing March 5th and 6th at Logan Martin Lake. Testing to see if Crappie had moved up into the creeks and shallows.

Fished with one pole casting a Slider Grub around docks, boat houses, and other structure. The fish were not in the shallower waters. Moved out on main lake into deeper water and fished around the docks and boat house with better results. Had Northwest wind one day and Southeast wind the next. Not a lot of boats on the water. The water temperature was 57 up to 60 degrees. Using a Slider JuneBug/Chartreuse Tail grub and a White/Chartreuse Tail Grub on a 1/16oz ball head open hook #4 double lite wire hook spin casting and using 4lb Mr. Crappie high visibility line. Had to slow my approach down by casting out grub, let fall a foot or two, reel back toward boat some, stop let lure drop and reel back slowly. Fished a half day each day and caught 10 crappie the first day and about 9 the next day; most were good size.

Also caught several small spotted bass, blue gill, and a couple of catfish. I plan to fish lake again in a week or so when crappie are moving into shallow waters. Always a good time to be on the lake.Does anyone else have update reports on Logan Martin Lake or surrounding lakes?
