I wanted you to see what I saw so I did a little experiment.

See the glare and reflection of the sun on the wave crests? SFN photo
I was watching the water and waves with the sun reflecting off both. I pulled down my Tonic sunglasses and all the glare and direct sun reflections from the waves were gone. The Tonic polarized lenses cut all of it out.
I took two photos of the water and wave action-one normally and another with my sunglass lens in front of the camera lens. The results are telling but still not as good as with your eyes.
