Slider Lures, Lawrenceburg, TN, has announced the release of a new 2 1/8” Double-Action Minnow Grub. Charlie Brewer, Jr. said, “This grub is little larger then our other crappie grub. It is 2 1/8” long and weighs about 1/16 oz.

The new Double-Action Minnow Grub can be cast, trolled, or vertical jigged and crappie, bass, especially smallmouth and spotted bass, as well as other fish have been caught on this grub in our field testing.” The new plastic lure has very good tail movement while swimming and dropping caused by the jointed tail with a flat, paddle tip. The movement of this bait is much like a miniature swimbait.

On a recent March trip to Martin Lake in lower Alabama the new Double-Action Minnow Grub accounted for 70 crappie.

Most of the fish were caught by casting to the bank around trees and stick ups. Later, the lure was trolled in a creek and the Slider Double-Action Minnow Grub caught crappie with this method as well. The water surface temperature on the trip was from 54 to 56 degrees. Spin cast reels with 4 lb. and 6 lb. monofilament line was used to get the lure in the water and the fish in the boat. The bigger crappie seemed to be hitting this new Slider plastic lure on this outing. Was the attraction the color being used, the action of the tail, the size of the lure or a combination of all three? What does matter is the Double-Action Minnow
Grub was catching fish!
