CULLMAN, Ala. — When Will Haynes and Austin Thomas found the food, they found enough bass to catch a 13-pound, 8-ounce limit that delivered a narrow victory at the Abu Garcia Bassmaster High School Series at Lewis Smith Lake presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors.

The Alabama Bass Trail South Division began the 2022 season from Logan Martin Lake, a lake well known for its spotted bass. 211 of 225 teams weighed at least one fish and the majority of those teams weighed in a 5 bass limit.

Christie Earns First Bassmaster Classic Victory On Lake Hartwell
GREENVILLE, S.C. — For years, Jason Christie has had to live with the crushing weight of leading pro fishing’s biggest event twice on the final day, only to fall short.
But no more.

Jason Christie of Park Hill, Okla., has won the 2022 Academy Sports + Outdoors Bassmaster Classic presented by Huk with a three-day total of 54 pounds.
