The Shelby County Junior Anglers team of Aiden King and Dillyn Dill defended their home-lake advantage by winning the Mossy Oak Bassmaster Junior Series title on Lay Lake Saturday afternoon with 10 pounds, 15 ounces.

Although they only live about an hour from Lay Lake, Will Phillips and Fletcher Phillips from Gardendale High School had not spent much time on the lake prior to this weekend.
The Shoals Youth Bassmasters fished Pickwick Lake on June 19th. The famed smallmouth bass impoundment was stingy on the brown fish with the green largemouth dominating in the livewells of the youth contenders.

The Alabama Bass Trail North Division concluded its regular season on Lake Neely Henry. Just like all regular-season events, teams were fishing for the $10,000 first-place check, and with this being the final event, the focus was also on the AOY points race.

Missing a limit usually dooms championship hopes, but East Texas Baptist University’s Cody Ross and Ethan Thurston defied the odds by winning the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series Classic presented by Bass Pro Shops on Eagle Mountain Lake and Lake Worth with a four-fish bag that weighed 16 pounds, 6 ounces.
