The Shoals Youth Bassmasters, based in Northwest Alabama, fished Pickwick Lake July 28, 2018, for their _ club tournament. Fish weighed by the winners in each age division totaled 62.31 pounds. Pickwick provided a mix of both largemouth and smallmouth bass for the young anglers.

Capt. Chad Gilliland and his wife, Danah, the new owners of TowBoatUS Lake Martin and TowBoatUS Lewis Smith Lake, have been inland Alabama boaters for the majority of their lives.
