First ACA event of 2025 to be contested at Pickwick Lake on April 5th – 6th
The 2024-25 season of the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series marks the 20th anniversary for the Association of Collegiate Anglers. The third event of the ACA’s historic season will be the Pickwick Slam.
Registration for the event is now open, and will close on Sunday, March 30th.
The Pickwick Slam is the ACA’s first event of 2025, and third event overall during the historic 20th season.
Set to take place at Pickwick Lake in Florence, AL, the no-entry-fee, nationally televised event featuring extensive digital coverage on a variety of platforms will pay out over $20,000 in prizes and contingencies, as well as double points to count towards the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia while also awarding slots in the season ending National Championship event on Lake Hartwell.
Being the final regular season event before the year-end Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops in May, the Pickwick Slam will be a crucial event for college bass fishing teams nationwide.
The Pickwick Slam will be a double-point event to count towards the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia. The final ACA double points event of the 2024-25 season, teams will be eligible to earn points for their two highest-finishing teams inside of the Top 150 for the overall tournament standings. At Pickwick Lake in April, teams will have the opportunity to earn over 3,000 points. This tournament will be make or break for programs looking to take top honors, or even place in the Top 25 come season’s end.
A lot is on the line during the final ACA major regular-season event in April. Along with the valuable double points, top finishing teams will be able to earn automatic qualification into the 2025 Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops. The Top 15 finishing angler pairings at the Pickwick Slam automatically qualify to compete in the 20th ACA National Championship. These qualified angler pairing entries must compete as the same angler pairing that competed at the Pickwick Slam. There is not a limit to the number of entries into the 2025 Championship that can qualify via this Top 15 finish.
The no-entry-fee Pickwick Slam will boast a total prize payout of over $20,000 in prizes and contingencies. To learn more and get signed up for contingency programs offered at ACA events, follow this link.
