Richard Laxson, Director of the Shoals Youth Bassmasters, has announced the club’s 2021 tournament schedule.

The 2021 schedule will again have six tournaments and are being held in memory of Ronnie Gibson. Gibson passed away earlier this year and had been an avid participant and supporter of the youth club. the 2020 tournament schedule had to be reduced to three events due to the COVID pandemic.
The 2021 schedule has one notable change from 2020. The first Pickwick tournament launch site has been changed from Coleman Park at the Natchez Trace Parkway bridge to McFarland Park in Florence, AL. The new season will have have two tournaments launched from First Creek on Wheeler Lake, two from McFarland Park on Pickwick, and two from the Lock Six ramp on Wilson Lake.

May 22 – First Creek Wheeler
June 19 – McFarland Park Pickwick
July 10 – Lock Six Wilson
July 24 – First Creek Wheeler
August 28 – Lock Six Wilson
Sept 18 – McFarland Park Pickwick
Tournaments will begin at 7:00 A.M. and weigh-in will be at 11:00 A.M. and the youth anglers will compete in three age divisions:
1. 10 and Under
2. 11 thru 15
3. 16 thru 18
Anglers in each division must have a responsible adult advisor in the boat, one adult per youth is permitted.
The year end picnic will be held after the last tournament on September 18. Youth must be a member before the last tournament to qualify to participate in the year end post tournament activities.
