Shoals Youth Bassmasters (SYBM) held their first tourney of 2016 May 21st on Wheeler Lake out of First Creek. Richard Laxson, SYBM Director noted the weather was hot and overcast with a slight breeze.
Seventy youth anglers showed-up to fish the first SYBM event of 2016. The club is to be commended for the outstanding devotion that is shown by the youth members and their boat captains.
A lot of good fish were brought to the scales. Many smallmouth bass were weighed-in (checkout the photos and fish weights below).
This is Shoals Youth Bassmasters 31st year. These youth anglers participating came from three States – Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi.

Richard Laxton and his group do a tremendous job with the kids of the shoals area and they are to be commended HIGHLY! It takes a special individual(s) to ensure the kids enjoy a season of fishing year after year. JOB WELL DONE Richard!
