The Shoals Youth Bassmasters kicked-off their 2018 season May 12 on Wheeler Lake out of First Creek. Sixty-eight members participated in the tournament. The 68 youth three age divisions brought in 100.937 pounds of Wheeler bass. Not bad at all.
Several 8 and 9 lb. bags were brought to the cales. The heaviest catch in all three age divisions was by Hannah Fleeman who had Hannah Fleeman 11 lbs. 6 oz. Close behind Hannah was Camden Randall that weighed-in 1l lbs. 3oz.
Drayke Clayton took big fish honors with a 4 lb. 2 oz. smallmouth.
The final tally looked like this:
10 and Under Age Group:
1st place: Camden Randall 11 lbs. 3 oz.
2nd place: Cody Adams 9 lbs. 15 oz.
3rd place: Drayke Clayton 9 lbs. 9 oz.
4th place: Spence Lovett 8 lbs. 2 oz.
11 to 15 Age Group:
1st place: Hannah Fleeman 11 lbs. 6 oz
2nd place: Gatlin Hambright 9 lbs. 5 oz
3rd place tie: Darin Ruble 8 lbs. 1 oz
3rd place tie: Ambri Gresham 8 lbs. 1 oz
4th place: Fisher Heard 8 lbs.
16 to 18 Age Group:
1st place: Katelynn Perry 7 lbs. 3 oz.
2nd place: Jared Sparks 5 lbs. 3 oz.
3rd place: Storme Alexander 5 lbs.
Lunker:
Drayke Clayton 4 lbs. 2 oz. Smallmouth
