The event is ALL about the kids. It is a day of fishing, boating, live music, wildlife programs, face painting, balloon animals, magic show and a lot of other outdoor activities. The event is FREE and each kid gets a rod, reel, tackle box, shirt, hat, plaque and door prizes. It is a fun day for everyone involved. It is very similar to the Timmy Horton’s
C,A,S,T, for Kids event.

Fishing for Kids Event. We fish from the shoreline and give boat rides to anyone that wants to go. We try to have about 40 participants each year. Our biggest challenge is always getting the “right” kids to the event. We are located just across the AL/MS line and only about an hour from Florence, AL. We have a few families that drive 3 or 4 hours every year to attend, so maybe some would come from your area. Please share this information with anyone that might want to participate.
The preferred method of registration is online at http://www.castforkids.org/events-calendar/cast-events/bay-springs-lake. It is pretty quick and easy. Just click the “Participant Registration” button and set-up an account. Then you will be able to register. This system will automatically generate emails about the event. Let me know, if you have trouble with the online registration and I can help you get signed up.
Volunteers should be there at 7:30 AM. If you are bringing a participant, please have them there by 8:30AM. We will start fishing at 9:00 AM. The activities will include fishing, boat rides, face painting, magic and balloon animals, wildlife programs and a picnic lunch. Joseph Baldwin will also be returning to perform for everyone. Joseph is very talented country music artist and will be playing from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM.
