The Art of Boat Wraps

I have always been fascinated by the colorful and unique designs of the bass pros boat wraps. For those not indoctrinated to professional bass fishing a “wrap” is a vinyl film that is applied to the sides, back and top of a boat. These wraps are also applied to a towing vehicle for a matched set of towing vehicle and boat. Sometimes the graphic theme is carried to the fisherman’s fishing jersey. But I am getting ahead of myself.

Before the film is applied to a boat and/or towing  vehicle the “film” must be printed. Designs incorporated are as varied as the pros that fish out of them. The vast array of bright colored designs are emblazoned with the angler’s sponsor’s logos. To see the field of pros on the water before a tournament begins is like walking down the main street in Las Vegas with all the bright, flashing neon signs. You

might note some colored, underwater LED lights on some of the rigs as well. The wraps help identify anglers and add a touch of excitement and showmanship.

Pictured here are three examples of pro wraps. If you want to dazzle your eyes then go to the B.A.S.S. page HERE to see the 106 boats of the Bassmaster Elite Pros. All the photos were taken by Laurie Tisdale

Since I will never be good enough to warrant a wrap I guess I will have to be content will some simple vinyl lettering on the Southern Fishing News boat. 🙂
