Shoals Youth Bassmasters placing members brought-in 98.125 pounds of bass from Wilson Lake in northwest Alabama on June 9, 2018. That total averages out to 8.92 pounds per youth finishing in the three age division top places. Many other youths caught fish but their weight was not high enough to finish in the top totals.
Club director Richard Laxson said a lot of fish were caught by the youth members despite the hot temperatures.

The weights brought-in support Laxson’s observation. Hunter Harvey bagged 11 lbs, 3 oz. to take first place in the 10 and under age division. Hannah Fleeman showed her bass fishing skills by weighing-in 14 lbs. 1 oz. of bass taking first place in the 11 to 15 age group. And Braydon Smith won first place honors in the 16-18-year-old group. Hannah Fleeman showed-up with the biggest bass of the tournament, a largemouth that weighed 5 lbs 8 oz.
The tournament was launched out of Fleet Harbor which is located adjacent to the dam on Wilson Lake.
The age divisions placing members were:
10 and under
1st place: Hunter Hardy, 11 lbs 3 oz.
2nd place: Spencer Lovett, 10 lbs 12 oz.
3rd place: Hudson Duncan, 6 lbs 11 oz.
4th place: Sawyer McGee, 5 lbs 6 oz.
11 to 15 Age
1st place: Hannah Fleeman, 14 lbs 1 oz.
2nd place: Jenny Beth Clifton, 10 lbs. 9 oz.
3rd place: Crawford Saylor, 10 lbs. 3 oz.
4th place: Westley Hayes, 8 lbs. 13 oz.
16 to 18 Age
1st place: Braydon Smith, 8 lbs. 1 oz.
2nd place: Laurel Fogle, 6 lbs. 13 oz.
3rd place: Jessica Malone, 5 lb.s 10 oz.
Lunker
