Just In Time For Fall Fishing (and Halloween)

From an obscure lure lab located deep beneath the concrete of Wilson Dam, Dr. Frankenslime has concocted a couple of different bait arrangements sure to confuse even the most skilled angler. Take a look if you have the nerve to try a new concoction!

Dubbed “Double Trbl” and “Herky Jerky”, Dr. Frankenslime has worked his magic to invent new ways to present staple lures to educated bass.

Dr. Frank threw Bass Assassin’s Twitch, Slider Lures Shad, and Slider’s Snagless and Spider Heads into a pot and spun them up into these two laboratory creations.

The Double Trbl rig incorporates two 1/8oz. Slider Spider Heads and two Slider Shads. Dr. Frankenslime tied one weight-Shad combo as the lead bait and used a long line tag end to tie a second identical rigging as a follow-along target. The tag line length is adjustable to have the following Shad run closer or farther behind the lead Shad. The result is a mini-school. The Slider Spider Heads enable you to run the set-up as deep as you want, like most swimbaits.

Double Trbl

Dr. Frankenslime assures us the baits do not foul up in the cast and run obediently one behind the other in perfect unison with tails flapping. He said go as low as you dare on what pound test you use, but to stick with mono or flouro.

Herky Jerky

With feeding bass on his mind, our somewhat off-balance lure scientist, paired up a Bass Assassin 6″ Twitch with a Slider Weedless Head to create a real monster of movements. Dr. Frank rigged the Twitch with the lure’s “slot” on top. Calling the Herky Jerky a “twitchbait” is a big understatement—call it more of an absolutely “crazybait”.

The flat head of the Slider Snagless hook acts sort of like a diving plane, moving the Twitch in different directions with each jerk. This rig responds to rod jerks with such erratic action that you will want to fish it even just for fun!

“Dr. Frank” used 6lb. mono in his lab experiment to get the best movement.

Well, there you have the lab results and crazy ideas from deep beneath the concrete of Wilson Dam.
