The Shoals Youth Bassmasters took to the tournament waters of Wheeler Lake on August 1. The 2020 tournament schedule, normally six events, was reduced to three due to the Coronavirus pandemic and planned for later in the year.
Slight wind and very overcast skies welcomed 53 young anglers to the waters of Wheeler Lake out of the First Creek state ramp. The youth anglers were competing in three age groups; Ten Years Old and Younger, Eleven Thru fifteen, and Sixteen Thru Eighteen.
The anglers and their adult advisers launched at 7 AM and returned for weigh-in at eleven.
Ten and under 1st place went to Kase Goodwin with 4 lbs. In 11 to 15 age group Camden Randall brought in 6 lbs., 14 oz. for a 1st place trophy. Fisher Heard topped the 16 to 18 age group with 3 lbs., 2 oz. Peyton Davidson took lunker with a 3 lb. largemouth.

3rd Place- Ethan Nave 2 lbs. 13 oz.

2nd Place- Hayden Brewer 6 lbs. 7 oz.
3rd Place- Evan Henry 6 lbs. 2 oz.
4th Place- Peyton Davidson 5 lbs. 1 oz.
16 to 18
1st Place- Fisher Heard 3 lbs. 2 oz.
2nd Place- Hunter Inabnitt 1 lbs. 14 oz.
3rd Place- Braydon Smith 0 lbs. 12 oz.

The club’s next tournament is August 29, Wilson Lake, launching from the Lock Six ramp.
All tournaments begin at 7:00 AM and weigh-ins at 11:00 AM. Anglers in each division must have a responsible adult advisor. The year-end picnic will be held at McFarland Park after the final, third tournament of 2020 on September 19 on Pickwick from the McFarland Park ramp. Anglers must be a member before the last tournament.
