The Alabama Student Angler Bass Fishing Association has taken delivery of their custom built, top-of-the-line tournament weigh-in trailer from Lone Wolf Trailer Company of Falkville, Alabama.
ASABFA conducted the 2011 tournament season with a borrowed tournament weigh-in trailer and equipment. This year the student anglers of the State of Alabama will be conducting their 2012 ASABFA Tournament Season from one of the finest tournament platforms that can be constructed.
The organization awarded the construction contract to Brad Maner and crew of Lone Wolf Trailer Company of Falkville, Alabama who took special pride in the research and development of a quality promotional venue platform for use by the ASABFA student anglers – a trailer built to last, easy to transport, fully functional, and customized for organizational promotion.
The trailer, designed by Don Gowan of Decatur, AL, is 24’ x 8.5’ over-wheel construction; has a 5” channel main frame; checkered plate steel floor; 2” x 3” cross members on 16” centers; 2” x 4” tubing deck frame covered with 1/8 aluminum panels and trimmed; Dexter EZ Lube due axles with electric brakes on each axel; 15” radial tires; custom rims; 36” entrance and exit doors; onboard electric hydraulic deck lid with mounted scoreboards; wired for electricity, 20” full length mesh equipment and weigh-in shelf, (2) above deck and (4) under deck storage boxes, and floor cleats for equipment tie-down, etc. The Water Pump; digital scale weigh-in system with electronic scoreboard; PA and musical sound system, and tournament water tanks, etc.
The graphics and wrap was provided by Mike Macon and staff of Maconart and Graphic Design of Hanceville, Alabama. The wrap consists of photos of various student anglers and Chapter clubs from the 2010 and 2011 tournament seasons.
The inaugural use of the trailer will be at the first ASABFA Regional Tournament Scheduled on Lake Martin, Alexander City on Saturday, February 25, 2012.
The Alabama Student Angler Bass Fishing Association is the grassroots umbrella organization in Alabama leading the way for the development of student angler bass fishing clubs that combines the sport of bass fishing in a way that promotes angler education by passing along traditions associated with the thrills of the outdoors on our great Alabama rivers and lakes. The Alabama Student Angler Bass Fishing Association is dedicated to the recruitment and successful development of tomorrow’s future anglers to excel in the areas of leadership, personal, professional, and educational development while fostering an appreciation of the great outdoors and the love of bass fishing as a sport through competitive tournaments, activities, and contests.
The Association promotes the necessary skills and professional experience of our student anglers to position them for future leadership positions and the friendly spirit of competition that they will need in later life. We also encourage the student angler to protect and promote the preservation of the sport of fishing’s natural resources, participate in community conservation projects and initiatives, and provide a social atmosphere for interaction with peers in a competitive environment that will build confidence for the future.
