The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) issued an executive order on June 5, suspending the harvest and possession of shoal bass from the Chipola River and its tributaries effective immediately until the order is repealed. Anglers are still permitted to catch and immediately release shoal bass.

Priority Registration Opens August 1
The Alabama Bass Trail (ABT) is pleased to unveil the 2020 tournament schedule which includes a new payout reaching over $580,000. Returning for the seventh season, the team-style tournament series is held on eleven different lakes of the Alabama Bass Trail beginning February 22, 2020, with the championship tournament to be held on October 23-24, 2020. Anglers in the no entry fee championship will be competing for over $100,000 in cash, including a $50,000 first place prize and top bragging rights for the year.

FLORENCE, AL (May 24, 2019) – “First feeling, man it’s awesome. To do it one time is a big deal, but to do it twice is even bigger,” said Carter McNeil of Bethel University. For the first time in the history of the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops, a school has repeated as champions. Not only that, the team that manages to go back-to-back is comprised of the same two anglers. Cole Floyd and Carter McNeil take home the victory this year on Pickwick Lake with 45.65 pounds.

The Shoals Youth Bassmasters (SYBM), Northwest Alabama fished the first of their six tournaments in the 2019 season. The event was held May 18 on Wheeler Lake in North Alabama out of the First Creek ramp.

The Shoals Youth Bassmasters has released the youth club’s tournament schedule for the 2019 season. The club’s season kicks off May 18 out of the First Creek ramp on Wheeler Lake. The schedule for 2019 consists of six tournaments fished on Wheeler, Wilson and Pickwick Lakes.
