Shoals youth found the bass on Pickwick Lake

The Shoals Youth Bassmasters trophy winners brought in 83.25 lbs. of bass from Pickwick Lake, in four hours, in the fourth tournament of the six-event 2025 season.

Slightly humid weather greeted 52 young anglers as they set out to fish Pickwick Lake from McFarland Ramp. Director Richard Laxson said, “It was a very good morning for fishing, but everyone knew that the day was just going to get warmer. But the temps did not hamper the young anglers, and the fish did not seem to mind either.” The bags brought into the weigh-in proved that.

Hadley Brewer topped the 10 and Under group for his 12.30 lbs. of bass. First place in the 11 to 15 Age Division took 11.13 lbs. to take first place. Cam Andrews had no competition in the oldest age group and was awarded a trophy for first place for his 6.78 lbs. brought to the scales. Hadley Brewer also took the big fish award for the 5.73 lb. largemouth in his bag.
