On August 31, 2021, the Wilson Lock floating wall, which guided boats into the primary lock, lost buoyancy, detached, and sank to the bottom of the reservoir. TVA’s interim guard wall solution was to install an interlocking system of three ocean barges and equipment.

BOAT RAMP NOW OPEN
The Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries (WFF) Division of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) has reopened the Washington County Public Fishing Lake boat ramp after a nearly year-long process to treat an invasive aquatic plant in the lake. The lake is located at 809 State Lake Road, approximately 2 miles west of Millry, Alabama.
