Lander University is ranked 2nd, University of North Alabama sits in 3rd.
The Association of Collegiate Anglers National Rankings system is a 12-month race where teams from all across the country compete in dozens of events nationwide to earn valuable points.
The Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia is college fishing’s only all-encompassing national rankings system.

Call Wheeler Lake the silent sleeper of the chain of lakes flowing through the Tennessee River valley in northern Alabama. Wheeler’s next-door neighbor to the east is Guntersville, and at the far end of the state is Pickwick, both lakes known for some of the best largemouth (Guntersville) and smallmouth (Pickwick) fishing in the nation.

The Shoals Youth Bassmasters went hunting for Wilson Lake bass on August 10 out of the Lock Six ramp. This tournament was the fifth of the six tournaments of the 2024 trail events. Several youths caught some good fish and numerous limits were brought in (limits reduced to three bass due to the heat).
