The Tennessee Asian Carp Advisory Commission was established in an executive order signed by Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee in September to study and provide advice regarding the best methods for mitigating the invasion of Asian carp into the state’s lakes and river systems.

The TWRA’s battle against Asian carp has been ongoing.

On Thursday, B.A.S.S. officials revealed the schedule for the 2021 Basspro.com Bassmaster Opens trail with a later start date than usual and a change in format from the past three seasons.

 With MLF’s announcement of the 2021 MLF Bass Pro Tour schedule, the 80 anglers competing on MLF’s highest-level tournament circuit can begin to set their sights on a return to the big-fish sweepstakes that defined the COVID-shortened 2020 regular season.

Wesley Sams and Jordan Wiggins caught the heaviest bag of the Bassmaster Team Championship on Thursday to earn a come-from-behind victory on the Harris Chain of Lakes.

After the shortest offseason break in the trail’s 16-year history, B.A.S.S. officials announced Thursday that the Bassmaster Elite Series will open its 2021 tournament slate Feb. 11-14 on the St. Johns River in Florida.

A strong run through rescheduled tournaments gave Bassmaster Elite Series pro Austin Felix a shot at winning the Bassmaster Angler of the Year title, and although disappointed his fortunes fell short, the native of Eden Prairie, Minn., is proud to have accomplished his initial goal of winning Elite Series Rookie of the Year.

Anglers will be competing for thousands of dollars in prizes, and the Top 10 at the close of the competition will earn valuable points towards the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia

Keith Carson had never seen Lay Lake before this week, but leveraging two familiar features allowed the Florida pro to win the Basspro.com Bassmaster Eastern Open with a three-day total of 47 pounds, 1 ounce.
